Aisha is a Lecturer. She teaches: Development Communication, Communication Theory, Public Relations, Media and Society, Media Research Methods and Advertising. She is also the Graduate Programmes Coordinator.
Aisha holds a Ph.D in Communication (Makerere and Örebro Universities). She has also undertaken further training in media and communication with other institutions including AfriComNet and the Salzburg Academy, where she was a fellow in 2008. She has previously worked as a researcher on projects commissioned by National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO), UNESCO, Sida and WHO. Aisha has particular interest in research related to communication and social protection as well as community participation, health and social change. She is currently engaged in a Deutsche Welle funded regional research project on Media and Informatio Literacy among Young People in East Africa. Her future research plans are to build on her doctoral work to further investigate health communication and social determinants of health in Uganda.
