Brief Bio:
John Baptist Wasswa is a journalist, former editor news editor at the Vision Group and Managing Editor, Daily Monitor. He a journalism teacher and media trainer. Wasswa studied at Makerere, University of Nairobi and Rhodes University. His doctoral research explores the partial privatisation of the New Vision Printing and Publishing Corporation (now the Vision Group) as a funding model for a formerly state owned media company transitioning into public service media. The study examines the intersection of private capital, government ownership and the Vision Group’s democratic functions in society.
