About Me:

Sara Namusoga–Kaale is currently a lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Communication at Makerere University, as well as the eLearning coordinator for the School of Languages, Literature and Communication. She holds a PhD in Cultural and Media Studies from the Centre of Communication, Media and Society at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Mass Communucation from Makerere UniversitySara teaches courses on multimedia production, digital communication, print media editing, computer aided research and reporting, and visual communication at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She is also involved in supervising research for both undergraduate and postgraduate student. 

Sara previously taught at Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) Faculty of Journalism, Media and Communication. She has also worked as online sub-editor at New Vision as well as a Hansard editor in the Pan-African and Ugandan parliaments. Her work is aligned to new media, media policy, print and digital journalism. 

In 2012, she and a team at Uganda’s parliament produced the award-winning publication, Parliament since 1962: Our story. The book was part of the activities to mark Uganda’s independence golden jubilee and records parliament’s history.
